Women's Empowerment

The HHAF Women's Empowerment Program aims to provide women living in Ghana with safe sex education, economic independence and to empower them to form support groups in their local communities.

In Ghana, the rates of HIV infection for women are double that of men. Which is why our team’s goal is to equip young women with essential knowledge of HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STI) and empower them with leadership and confidence to make healthy life choices on their own. We run our programs in schools and communities, assist women in forming support groups in their local communities and encourage teachers to address these crucial issues in the classroom. The women's empowerment program's current plan is to utilize the women's skills such as jewelry making and sewing, and allow women to improve their lives by becoming economically independent.
