Dr. Mendel Markowitz graduated from The Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery. For the past eighteen years, he has been in private practice and served as an attending on the oral and maxillofacial service at St Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan. In addition to training residents in facial trauma and reconstructive surgery, he is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Member of the New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, Member of the American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists and a Medical Consultant to the New York Rangers. Dr. Markowitz heads the HHAF medical team as Chief Medical Director and has been responsible for the success of over 35 reconstructive surgeries since the organization's inception.
Dr. Edward Reda is the Director of Pediatric Urology at Westchester Medical Center, Valhalla, New York, and Associate Professor of Urology at New York Medical College in Valhalla. He completed his urology residency at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and a Fellowship in Pediatric Urology at the Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Reda’s special interest is the reconstructive surgery of children with difficult hypospadias, exstrophy and epispadias problems, as well as those requiring bladder and bowel augmentations and urinary incontinence procedures. In addition to his work with HHAF in Ghana, he has volunteered as an expert to the country of Viet Nam, where he has assisted and instructed Vietnamese physicians in the reconstruction of severe hypospadias and other penile malformations.
Dr. Steven Zaretsky is an expert in Arthroscopic surgical procedures involving the knee and shoulder. He specializes in the evaluation and treatment of meniscus tears, chondral lesions, patellofemoral derangement, ligament injuries and arthritis of the knee. Dr. Zaretsky's expertise involving the shoulder includes the evaluation and treatment of rotator cuff disorders, impingement syndrome, instability and arthritis.
Dr. Justin Steele practices general surgery in New York. He has been in private practice and served as an attending on the oral and maxillofacial service at St Vincent's Hospital in Manhattan for nine years. He graduated from Stony Brook University Health Sciences Center School Of Medicine and specializes in Gallbladder Removal, Pancreatic and Bile Duct Endoscopy Using Contrast (ERCP), Appendix Abscess Drainage Appendectomy and Blood Vessel Catheter Insertion.
Dr. Avraham Markowitz is an Anesthesiologist in New York, New York who is affiliated with Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
