In conjunction with the non-profit organization Feed My Starving Children, HHAF's Feeding Program works to provide a sustainable meal supplementation, nutrition and nutrition education program for those in need. For the past few years, the HHAF program has secured and distributed a total of 850,000 meals to various orphanages, communities, schools and refugee camps throughout Ghana. Through a partnership with Feed My Starving Children, HHAF is responsible for the organization, shipping, transportation, accountability and distribution of these highly nutritious meals to malnourished children through school lunch programs, malnourished feeding centers, and care facilities for physically and mentally handicapped children. While focusing on nutrition education programs and growth monitoring, we ensure the success of the program and work with each individual area to create and devise plans for sustainability. Each year we asses the areas of need and submit our desired allocation to Feed My Starving Children in order to obtain the meals. Once we distribute these meals we are responsible for creating and implementing systems in which all food can be accounted for.
The meals come prepackaged and vary between six to twelve servings. There are three prepackaged food products that we serve MannaPack Rice, MannaPack Potato-D, and MannPack Potato-W. The product MannaPack-D and W are both potato based. MannPack-D is for children with severe diarrheal diseases. MannaPack-W is meant to be a complementary food for children ages 7-12 month of age to enhance important calorie, protein, fat, and vitamin and mineral needs. The main product that we distribute is Manna Pack Rice, which consists of rice, extruded soy nuggets, vegetarian flavoring, dehydrated vegetables for flavor and nutrition, and vitamins and minerals as follows.
