Adopting Abura Odwumasi
In 2012 HHAF adopted our first village in the Central Region of Ghana. Abura Odwumasi is home to nearly 300 individuals. The village had no access to clean drinking water, sanitation and malnurtrition issues and very little education with only one teacher in the village teaching students at all age levels the same criteria.
In March 2012 HHAF began construction of a water well in the village of Abura Odwumasi to provide clean drinking water for the people of the village. This water well gave villagers access to not only drinking water, but also improved sanitation levels in the village.
In April 2012 HHAF began the building of our first school in Abura Odwumasi during our Humanitarian Mission. The school is set to open in April 2013 and will provide education to not only our village but surrounding villages as well. Teachers will be provided so that students may start learning at their own age levels.
